Kirby-Ivers Town Forest

The Kirby Town Forest was named after the late State Representative Tom Kirby of Pelham. He promoted the idea of the forest management plans now used to encourage wildlife and forest growth in most of Pelham Conservation Lands. The lvers property (22 acres) was purchased in 2009. The lvers family have been long term residents of Pelham and wanted to see their land preserved, not developed. The lvers parcel both enlarges and provides excellent access to the Kirby Town Forest.

The Kirby/Ivers Town Forest is a beautiful northern hardwood forest with stone walls, large ledge outcroppings and areas of wetlands, with a diverse landscape of interest to the naturalist and hiker alike.

With over 86 acres the forest provides a quiet and contemplative setting for a daytime excursion.

Forest and wildlife management is practiced throughout the property for the purposes of demonstrating sustainable forestry practices and wildlife habitat techniques to protect and encourage a diverse array of native species.

From the intersection of Hobbs Road and Windham Road (Rt. 111A) take Windham Road north, the entrance is located 1/2 mile on the right, just past a small pond and farm house.
