PELHAM HIGH PROUDLY PRESENTS THREE PATHWAYS!
The Pathway Initiative is a New Hampshire and national
stepping-stone designed to help students explore and gain the knowledge and
skills needed to be successful in a career path of their choice. Each pathway
includes rigorous academic requirements, opportunities to develop technical
skills, including workplace internships, and incentives for students to pursue
higher education as a way to increase their long-term career potential.

Law, Public Safety & Security Pathway
The Law, Public Safety & Security Pathway was
developed for students interested in the broad career areas of law, public
safety and
security. This pathway is opened to juniors and seniors who are interested in police work, fire fighting, law, EMT, paralegal, officers of the
court, FBI, criminal justice, and homeland security, among the many
possibilities. Students follow a sequence of core academic courses that must
include Criminology, Oral Communications, World Literature and the Law, and
Introduction to Forensics.

Future Educator Academy
The Future Educator Academy presents several
opportunities for students who have an interest in learning more about a career
in education.

Students in the Future
Educator Academy (FEA) follow a sequence of core academic courses that must
include English Composition (Essay Writing); Computer Applications II; US
History; FEA I Exploration in Teaching and Child Development, and FEA II
Literature in Education and Practicing the Art of Teaching, which includes an
internship. Stu dents
also have the opportunity to become a member of the Future Educators of America,
which is part of the Phi Delta Kappa Network. Please see Mrs. Paulauskas or your

Academy of Finance Pathway
|
The Academy of Finance (AOF) Pathway is part of a
nationally acclaimed, industry-validated curriculum model sponsored by the National Academy
Foundation. This pathway focuses on preparing students for careers in Financial
Services including accountant, financial analyst, real estate broker, securities
broker,
bank teller, auditor, insurance adjuster, certified financial planner, budget
analysis, etc. Students follow a sequence of core academic courses, including
Economics; Computer Applications II; College Business Math and Credit;
Accounting I and II; Personal Financial Planning, and International Finance.
Students who qualify will participate in a paid internship between their junior
and senior year of high school.

Many of the courses included in
each of the above pathways are part of the
Running Start Program and are eligible for high school and college
credits. In addition, all of the above programs have articulation
agreements with two and four-year colleges in New Hampshire.
