JOB SHADOW EXPERIENCE
PROCEDURES
Seniors may utilize a day to take advantage of
a job shadow experience. They will not be marked absent for the day if the
proper procedures are followed.
1. Contact Mrs. Paulauskas, District
Coordinator for Career to Work, to make arrangements with a selected job shadow
site. Many job shadow experiences are arranged through personal friends, family
members, or acquaintances. The guidance counselor and/or the career to work
coordinator may aid in this arrangement.
2. A minimum of TWO DAYS NOTICE is
required. Two job shadow forms must be picked up in the guidance office. One
needs to be signed in advance of the visit and returned to the main office the
day before your job shadow experience. The second form will be taken
with you on the job shadow experience and signed by your site official. This
form is to be returned to the main office upon your return to school. A
post-shadow report form must also be completed by the student and returned to
guidance.
The Guidance Counselors and/or the Principal
reserve the right to determine if a job shadow experience is necessary on
a school day. A job shadow experience is not an automatic right.
