College Board - Register for the SAT exam, browse career information, search for college information.

College Net - This site offers a variety of information for scholarships, testing, and  distance learning.

College View Scholarship - Like many other scholarship sites, this too requires that you register in order to view the scholarships. 

Common Application  - More than 250 colleges accept the Common App, which makes applying to college an easier process.  You may either download the forms or complete the process online.

Making College Count - As their homepage suggests, this site offers tips and tools to help students explore opportunities and enjoy success.

NEBHE Regional Student Program - Program provides a discounted out-of-state tuition rate to eligible residents enrolled in approved majors at state colleges and universities in New England.

WORK-RELATED EXPLORATION

JOB SHADOW EXPERIENCE PROCEDURES

 

Seniors may utilize a day to take advantage of a job shadow experience.  They will not be marked absent for the day if the proper procedures are followed.

 

        1.  Contact Mrs. Paulauskas, District Coordinator for Career to Work, to make arrangements with a selected job shadow site.  Many job shadow experiences are arranged through personal friends, family members, or acquaintances.  The guidance counselor and/or the career to work coordinator may aid in this arrangement.

       

        2.  A minimum of TWO DAYS NOTICE is required.  Two job shadow forms must be picked up in the guidance office.  One needs to be signed in advance of the visit and returned to the main office the day before your job shadow experience.  The second form will be taken with you on the job shadow experience and signed by your site official.  This form is to be returned to the main office upon your return to school.  A post-shadow report form must also be completed by the student and returned to guidance.

 

The Guidance Counselors and/or the Principal reserve the right to determine if a job shadow experience is necessary on a school day.  A job shadow experience is not an automatic right.
