6th Grade Summer Reading
An alphabet book is a fun and helpful way to share information. Alphabet books are used by many writers because they are a helpful way to organize information for readers. In conjunction with your summer reading, you will be able to put the following information into an alphabet book:
Characters
Setting
Background information
Climax (the high point of the story)
Problems/Solutions
Theme (what is the message)
Your book should be 26 pages (one for each letter of the alphabet).
Your book should include a title page with the name of the book, author and your name.
We suggest 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper.
Each page should include at least one complete sentence explaining your illustration.
Each page should have its letter on it.
Example:
B

Miss Bessie is Jess's cow.
He is responsible for caring for
Miss Bessie every morning.
Students will have the opportunity to share their Alphabet Books with their teachers and classmates.
Have Fun!!!!
