The Cubmaster’s
Corner
Greetings all and
happy fall to everyone!
October is
“Love a Book” month within
the Daniel Webster Council so we are asking everyone to bring a “gently used
book” to our pack meeting on October 24th.
These donated books will go to children who need them and are a great
example of how Cub Scouts live up to their Cub Scout promise to “help other
people”.
We will be handing
out order forms for our newest fundraiser at our next pack meeting.
It is also our
annual Halloween Costume Party and Pumpkin Carving Contest were we shall
have a real spooky time starting at 6:30pm at St.Pat’s Club House!!
A note to all parents: This year Pack 25 has seen a great increase in
our membership. We as a Pack
have grown almost twofold adding two new Tiger Dens as well as almost every
Den in our Pack gaining at least one or two new members!
With that being said it is very important that everyone, including
adults, be ever mindful of the importance of having an organized,
productive, and attentive pack meeting.
We as the Pack Den Leaders, and I myself as Cubmaster ask that you
keep your talking on the sidelines to a minimum.
As we tell all the Cubs, be they old or new, to pay attention and
keep quite while myself or one of the other leaders are talking, we also ask
that you as parents and Akela do so as well. This not only helps keep order
to the meeting, important information is talked about, and more importantly
the Cubs look to we adults as Akela and role models.
We also ask that if you see Cubs not paying attention, horseplay, or
any unScout like behavior to gently remind the Cubs of what “signs up” mean.
If it continues or any serious matter needs to be addressed feel free
to speak to one of the leaders on the sidelines or talk to me after the
meeting is over.
er.
Yours in Scouting
Bruce S. Deacon
