Getting Started in Pack 25
Information

Pack 25 of
Pelham
NH
recently made a trip to Battleship Cove, in
Fall River,
Massachusetts, to explore
the worlds largest collection of historic navel ships. After touring
the battleship
Massachusetts,
destroyer Joseph
P. Kennedy Jr., submarine Lionfish, PT
Boats
617 & 796, and the Russian
missile
corvette
Hiddensee, the
scouts, their parents and adult
leaders
spent the night on board the famous USS Massachusetts. This trip was a
great way to end the summer and kick off the busy school year in
scouting for Pack 25. In true
cub scout
form, they
didn't
let Hurricane Irene stop them
from having a blast!
Battleship Cove's Nautical Nights program
included a knot tying class, storyteller, living history presenter, and
major motion pictures, and Morse Code class. The trip has enabled the
scouts to better understand and appreciate the
sacrifices
made by
veterans
of all military branches in all wars.
Additionally, Battleship Cove
serves as the
Commonwealth's official memorial for Massachusetts citizens of all
military branches who lost their lives
serving
our county. Recently adding a memorial for victims of
the
September 11 2001
attacks. Open 362 days of the year, it's educational
programs
expose over 60,000
youth
to a mission that promotes duty, honor and county.
