Annual Fun Fitness
Fundraiser!
As part of our ongoing commitment to
promote healthy choices for our students, the PTA is once again sponsoring the
Fun Fitness Fundraiser to promote physical activity. The children choose the
physical activity they enjoy most and earn pledged money for the time spent performing that
activity. We’re happy to say this approach not only supports positive
competition among the students but also helps emphasize the important role
exercise plays in a healthy, active lifestyle.
It
is our belief that when parents know the goals of a school fundraiser, they
will be more supportive and generous. You can be assured that all monies
collected from our only fundraiser of the year will be spent on supporting the children. Since there are no products sold, we keep all the profit! Our
goal for money raised this year is to continue to upgrade classroom area
electronics in addition to our usual funding of class field trips, school assemblies, and family activities.
We
are sponsoring this year’s Fun Fitness program on Friday, September 23rd, 2011 (rain date September 26, 2011). This event allows the children to participate
in their favorite activity while earning money and having fun! Children will be
able to choose one of three fitness units; Tour de Pelham (Bike Riding), The Pelham Marathon (Walking/Running Track), or Mr. Bolduc’s Boot Camp (Obstacle Course).
Each
student is encouraged to complete as many laps as possible during the half hour
event. Students will collect pledges beforehand on a sponsor sheet. A flat donation
in lieu of pledges is also acceptable. It’s our desire to have everyone
participate; however, those who choose not to be involved will attend an
alternative class.
About 75
volunteers are needed to ensure the program’s success, so we could really use
your help. Please complete the PTA Membership Form and Volunteer form (Both are
attached) and let us know what times you are available to volunteer. We really
appreciate your assistance. If you’re available to help out days or evenings, for any amount of time, please let us know. You may contact us at PES-PTA@pelhamsd.org to sign up or if you need more information.
