MEMORIAL DAY

Service was held at Veteran's Memorial Park at 9:00 a.m. with joint VFW/American Legion riffle squad salute.   Mustered at the Village Green for parade to Gibson Cemetery where Elaine Hohmann was the master of ceremonies.  World War II veterans were asked to come up and sit on their service benches, the crowed was asked to give names of deceased veterans to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary members and those names as well as the names of the members of each Post who died were read out loud.  The Claudia Combs Music Academy sang the National Anthem, the Pelham High School Band played patriotic music while the veterans, town officials, youth groups and more marched.  Wreaths were laid and after a gun salute by the joint riffle squad, the group marched to the town center for another laying of a wreath.  The event ended at the American Legion for a town-wide picnic.  Thank you to the towns folks of Pelham for coming out to remember our Veterans.
